CSUF’s Vaccination Record Incentive Health Program

Dear Titans, 

Cal State Fullerton encourages all students to voluntarily upload COVID-19 vaccination verification information in advance of the Fall 2021 semester. Students who submit vaccination verification will be able to opt out of weekly testing for COVID-19 (more information below). In addition, students who provide vaccination verification by Thursday, July 29, 2021, will automatically be enrolled in CSUF’s Vaccination Record Incentive Health Program to win either a free Fall 2021 parking permit ($334 value) or Apple Air Pods.  

CSUF Re-entry Planning

As outlined in CSUF’s plan for safe re-entry, all students who choose to be vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, can opt out of the testing plan by verifying full vaccination. If a vaccine verification is not submitted, then those individuals returning to campus will be tested for the virus that causes COVID-19 at least weekly. Please note that the online vaccine verification information follows similar HIPAA (referred as Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996) protected methods for other campus required immunizations. An individual’s vaccination status will remain confidential. 

CSU to Implement COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement Upon FDA Approval

In a recent joint announcement, the California State University (CSU) and the University of California (UC) stated that the universities intend to require faculty, staff and students who are accessing campus facilities at any university location to be immunized against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. This requirement will be conditioned upon full approval of one or more vaccines by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), as well as adequate availability of the fully approved vaccines. Additional details are forthcoming from the CSU Chancellor’s Office about this requirement and they will be communicated to you.
