Message to Students from the Provost and VP Student Affairs : Fall 2021 Update

Thursday February 11, 2021 2:07 pm

Dear Titans,

We want to keep you informed around planning for Fall 2021 classes. We may be able to return to campus largely in-person, as CSU Chancellor Castro announced in December and reinforced at the recent CSU Board of Trustees meeting.

At this point, we are planning for a Fall 2021 semester that features a blend of virtual and in-person instruction, and this approach is being communicated throughout the campus, including to you … especially for you. As the COVID pandemic continues, we also remain committed to the health and safety of our whole Titan community. So, we cautiously say, Titans, that the part of our plans that are in-person are dependent on federal, state and community guidelines and equitable vaccine distribution to all who desire it. In order to return, we must be reasonably confident that our faculty, staff, and students are adequately protected. The campus will make appropriate adjustments to the class schedule to best maintain your health and safety, which may include limiting our in-person classroom capacity and moving a greater percentage of our courses to virtual. We will know more in the months ahead, and we will let you know as soon as we know, should plans for instruction change.

The timing, processes and procedures for enrollment are largely as they have been in the past. You should keep in mind the following important dates and processes. If you are unsure about any issues as you gear up for Fall 2021 registration, please reach out to the various offices below – they are here to help you!

Titans, you continue to show incredible grit, determination and perseverance. Know that we are doing our best – safely – to get us back together in our campus “home”, so that we can continue to learn and commune together – one of the many aspects of what makes it great to be a Titan.

Sincerely,
