Reminders for Fall 2021 Semester – For Students
Thursday July 22, 2021 6:21 pmDear Titans,
The Fall 2021 semester is quickly approaching (about a month away!). Until then, we hope you are enjoying your summer vacation.
Throughout this summer, Cal State Fullerton (CSUF) established a few COVID-19 mitigation measures to protect the health and safety of our Titan Community, which includes encouraging all employees and students to voluntarily upload their COVID-19 vaccine record in advance of the fall semester. As you prepare for the semester, please review the following reminders.
Upload Your Vaccine Record and Enter to Win Free Parking or Apple Air Pods
Students who provide a vaccine record by Thursday, July 29, 2021, will automatically be enrolled in CSUF’s Vaccination Record Incentive Health Program (http://coronavirus.fullerton.edu/vaccine-incentive-program/) to win either a free Fall 2021 parking permit ($334 value) or Apple Air Pods. A winner is selected every Friday in the month of July.
- Review the tutorial on how to upload vaccine information
- Begin the vaccine verification upload process
If you would like to receive a free COVID vaccine on campus through a vaccine clinic, then please complete a brief survey. We will contact you when a vaccine clinic is scheduled.
President’s Directive No. 22
Please read President’s Directive No. 22, which outlines mitigation measures you are required or strongly encouraged to take, including uploading vaccine record, use of face coverings, pre-entry health screenings, isolation/quarantine and physical distancing. Please visit the Office of the President’s website to review the new directive in full as you prepare for return to campus in the fall semester.
Below are a few highlights from the directive.
- Vaccinated students who choose to voluntarily upload their vaccine record can enjoy less restrictions while on campus. If you upload your COVID-19 vaccine record, you will not be required to wear a face covering indoors on campus, you can opt out of re-entry and weekly COVID testing, and you can be exempted from self-quarantining off campus in the event of a reported exposure or outbreak.
- Students who choose not to upload their vaccine record must continue to wear face coverings indoors unless an exemption applies (exemptions listed in the directive). In addition, these students must participate in re-entry and weekly COVID testing. Testing information will be emailed to these students in August. Testing must be completed at CSUF per President’s Directive No. 22.
Remember the CSU vaccine requirement will go into effect after one or more of the current COVID-19 vaccines with an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) receives full approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Once this happens, a policy and related implementation details of the vaccine requirement, including an exemption process, will be available.
We hope this information is helpful. If you have any questions, please email deanofstudents@fullerton.edu.
Wishing you good health,
