Postponement of Commencement Ceremonies

Tuesday March 17, 2020 3:30 pm

Dear Campus Community,

In light of the recommendations being made by the CDC in response to COVID-19, we are disappointed to announce the postponement of the 2020 commencement ceremonies.

This decision was not made lightly, but is prudent considering the guidelines from local and national authorities.  Our greatest priority is the health and safety of our graduates, their families, our faculty and staff during this time.

Please note that commencement is NOT being cancelled.  It is being postponed to a later date.

Please note in that this decision will not affect the timing of degree completion.  Degree conferral will be governed by the completion of the academic work for the relevant degree.

We are consulting with campus partners to determine not if, but when, the commencement ceremonies will be rescheduled, so that we can celebrate the great accomplishments of our 2020 graduates. When we are able we will announce the new schedule and dates, giving grads and guest sufficient time to plan to attend ceremonies.

In the weeks to come, details will be sent via email to all graduates. Please also be sure to check the commencement webpage (http://www.fullerton.edu/commencement) for additional information, or graduates can email commencement@fullerton.edu with any questions.

Thank you for your patience during these unprecedented times. We look forward to an exciting commencement celebration in the future!

Sincerely,

Greg Saks
Vice President, University Advancement
