An Important Update for Staff

Monday March 16, 2020 8:46 pm

Fellow Titans,

As President Virjee outlined in his email, effective tomorrow, March 17, 2020, CSUF is temporarily suspending all non-essential on-campus functions AND expanding mandatory virtual instruction to include labs, studios, and all other face-to-face teaching modalities until at least April 26, 2020.

This means that essential personnel required to support critical campus functions will need to continue working on-site, unless their job duties can be performed remotely. For those essential employees that will continue working on campus, the University will continue to institute measures focused on their well-being during the full extent of this closure.

Individuals in positions considered as non-essential personnel whose job duties can be performed remotely, should do so through a Temporary Telecommuting Agreement. For non-essential employees whose job duties cannot be performed remotely, your manager will communicate with you for further guidance. We expect that the Appropriate Administrators of each Department will communicate with their staff regarding how their area will continue in this closure. To that end, unless otherwise already approved with a Temporary Telecommuting Agreement in place, all staff should report to work tomorrow (March 17, 2020) to help facilitate this process.

Further, those who are 65 and older or vulnerable to COVID-19 must remain off campus. Employees should communicate with their managers if they are so categorized.

It is important that you also take care of yourself during this time. As employees, you have access to resources through the University’s Employee Assistance Program, LifeMatters by Empathia (EAP). You can reach out to HRDI with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

David Forgues, Ph.D., SHRM-SCP
